Poor Girl
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AIDVfMu
This came out on Drudge today. Why is this news? Why is the Pentagon even commenting on this? These are soldiers. You people in your air conditioned offices with your comfy chairs and your air conditioning and your 24x7 internet and your Starbucks don't seem to understand what it really means to be a part of a team.
It's summer camp bullshit, plain and simple. Yes, she's the only girl, yes, it's a little immature, but any one of these people would undoubtedly lay down in traffic for any of the others if they were asked. That's a team. And part of being part of a team is the screwing around.
Give this video a moment to die down, then wait for the video of the payback she undoubtedly will give her comrades in arms when she gets the opportunity. These are soldiers, stand or die, rise or fall. Regardless of what I feel about the war, I don't see anything newsworthy here. Just a group of people blowing off steam, looking for a laugh in a place there is nothing funny about.
(As to the uploader's comment about no humvees to fix today - do you know what they fix? Bulletholes, probably. I'm glad they have enough time ot duct tape this poor girl to a pole. That means nobody hit a roadside bomb or got shot that day. And I hope she has time to get her revenge.)
(Also, if the video link isn't permanent, the video is of a bunch of soldiers duct taping a female comrade to a pole. Everyone's laughing, nobody is trying to get hurt.)
This is funny. War is not.
